PYLLON EXPOSURE - 3 / 6 / 9 HOUR RUNS: SURRENDER IS YOUR ONLY OPTION
We are coming together to support mental health awareness in January. At Pyllon we feel passionately about providing both you and our wider community with some positivity at the start of the year - when things can feel a little overwhelming. We are aware of the hugely positive impact that running and human connection has on our mental wellbeing, we therefore wanted to connect with the running community and kick start 2022 with something to look forward to, together. Our mental health charities have never worked harder than they are now, providing invaluable support to many people during a very difficult two years. We want to recognise that and salute them! Pyllon will therefore be donating all monies made from this event to one of the mental health charities we aim to support.
Exposure Dark by Pyllon is a unique race concept that will provide you with all the motivation you need to train hard over the next few months. Exposure has different race options to suit everyone and is not just for Pyllon athletes.
It’s an event with a difference, and you will need to be ready to embrace uncertainty:
1. It’s a race - There will be winners, and for many, just finishing the race will be a huge accomplishment
2. The race will start and finish at a set time, just like a normal event, so you’ll be going up against others in a ‘live’ environment
3. As the name suggests, this is an event that you’ll have to surrender to. It won’t be easy, and for the racer, there will be the uncertainty and challenge of not knowing exactly what distance you’ll run and how to survive the full exposure time
Exposure Dark by Pyllon is a virtual ultra running event starting on the 29th January. You can expose yourself to one of three race options - 3 hours, 6 hours or 9 hours.
Once selected, in order to complete the race you’ll have to commit to taking part for the full race period (3, 6, or 9 hours). However, you won’t know exactly what distance you must run. At the start of each hour during the event, we will send you a message revealing how many miles you will have to cover during that hour. It’s then up to you to choose how fast you want to run - run hard and gain some rest time before the next hourly exposure? Pace it more carefully knowing that you’ll have to survive another 2, 5, or 8 hours?
Already excited? Or scared that you might feel too exposed?

“if you genuinely cannot afford to take part in the event, but really want to, please contact us by email and if we have any spare places to allocate for free we will. Running is important to us and we do not want anyone to miss out just because they don’t have enough money to register. Please contact [email protected]”
